This week our CEO, Shirley Moore was invited to a reception at Number 10 Downing Street, as part of Local Charities Day.
The event was jointly hosted by Rt Hon. Karen Bradley MP, Secretary Of State for Culture, Media & Sport and Minister For Civil Society, Rob Wilson MP.
Shirley was able to meet other local charity representatives, speak about the importance of our work in Suffolk and the difference it makes to vulnerable people and
support the Local Charities Day imitative, which culminates today (16th December) with the day itself, which celebrates small charities and voluntary groups like TBS and the contribution they make.
Mr. Wilson said of the day,
“On Local Charities Day, I want us all to shout from the rooftops about small, local charities: their energy, commitment, expertise and the benefits they bring to their communities. We have already done a huge amount of work for small and local charities, reducing regulation and introducing a Bill to parliament which will make Gift Aid even more flexible and generous.”
