SUPPORT VULNERABLE PEOPLE WHILE YOU SHOP AT CANHAMS ROAD CO-OP
If you’ve got a Co-op membership card you can now donate one penny of every pound you spend on Co-op products to Sudbury-based charity, The Befriending Scheme.
One of two charities you’ll be able to choose from at the Canhams Road store, The Befriending Scheme provides friendship and learning opportunities for adults with learning disabilities and other vulnerable groups.
The donations shoppers make will allow the charity to continue to grow their services which include regular drop-in centres, one-to-one befriending, as well as opportunities to develop life skills and try new activities.
With more than 12,000 adults with a learning disability in Suffolk, and one in four with mild mental health conditions, The Befriending Scheme’s services tackling isolation and loneliness are needed more than ever before.
Chief Executive Officer of The Befriending Scheme, Shirley Moore, said “We are delighted to be chosen as one of Canhams Road Co-op’s Charities of the Year. It’s really easy to sign up as a member in the shop and such a simple way to donate, but the money will make an enormous difference to the people we support. We want to say a huge thank you to the store for choosing us and to everyone who donates over the course of the next year.”
