Life Skills Training
The Befriending Scheme delivers a varied programme of Life Skills Training to our members. The Life Skills programme is aimed at supporting our members to develop independent living skills as well as how to deal with challenging situations such as mate crime and bullying.
The Befriending Scheme would like to express their gratitude to Realise Futures and The St Edmunds Trust who kindly provided funding to enable us to deliver our Life Skills training.
We can offer Training Courses in the following Life Skills:
Our training courses are a maximum of 2.5hrs long and offer creative and innovative learning solutions to ensure that key messages are embedded and stick with the learners, helping them develop essential independent living skills. If you are interested in booking a training course then please contact our office on 01787 371333 for further information and a no obligation quote.
We are also delighted to be awarded the Silver Standard Quality Mark in June 2016 by Realise Futures for the successful Life Skills Training delivered this year.
We have also been involved in projects in the community working in collaboration with Scottish Power to generate an awareness of fuel poverty and support vulnerable people through the Suffolk Switched On project to develop the skills and confidence to manage their own fuel consumption and avoid fuel debt.
We have worked in partnership with ACE and Anglia Care Trust to develop Suffolk Community Advocacy Project. This involves generating awareness and providing training opportunities to community groups, volunteers and professionals relating to advocacy and implications of changes to services offered to adults with care and support needs under the Care Act 2015.
