CLOSING DATE FOR APPLICATIONS 04/02/2020
THIS VACANCY HAS NOW BEEN FILLED
An opportunity has arisen to be part of an exciting project. The Befriending Scheme (TBS) is an established charity set up 30 years ago, to provide friendship and learning opportunities for vulnerable adults aged 16+.
An exciting recent development is the setting up of a community farm, near Sudbury, that will provide ongoing and one-off placements for vulnerable adults, young people and families especially those with learning and/or physical disabilities. We are looking for an energetic individual with sound organisational and practical skills who has the ability to think creatively and can be flexible and dynamic in their approach.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Farm Manager and be responsible for implementing a programme of, and managing, group activities.
You should be a competent cook and have experience of teaching life and independent living skills. A sound knowledge of horticulture is essential as is an ability to manage DIY projects on the Farm. Experience of working with vulnerable people or those with learning difficulties is highly desirable The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate how they will contribute to the development and growth of the community farm. This is a 30 hour a week post but the successful candidate should be able to work in a flexible way, including occasional hours at evenings, weekends and bank holidays.
