Introducing the newest additions to our 'Friends Community Farm' Hub!

We would like to welcome our not so little additions to the ‘Friends community Farm’ (FCF), our  3 month old Emu chicks! They seem to be settling in really well amongst the other animals.

The birds managed to cope with the recent heatwave by dipping into their own little pool.

We are yet to name these two…watch this space for a competition to choose their names!

New Wildlife pond at the 'Friends community Farm Hub'

We now have a new wildlife pond at the Assington friends community farm hub, courtesy of Team 12 of the National Citizens Service (NCS)! As a team from the NCS, ‘Team 12’ have decided to help The Befriending Scheme with our new project; the community farm hub in Assington. The group of young volunteers have created a pond to help attract new wildlife. We hope that this will also create a calming and relaxing learning environment for members who wish to visit the farm.

Suffolk Dog Day

What better day is there than take your dog to work day? On Sunday 28th July our Ipswich Area Coordinator, Becca Macro, attended the ‘Suffolk Dog Day’ event at Helmingham Hall, in order to promote and provide information about our services. We had a stand full of leaflets, posters and small goodies such as balloons and badges. It was an excellent day, with lots of cute dogs and various people to talk to. Becca even brought along her dog, Neo, who is 14 1/2 years old!

Old Foundry Road community group

Cat Davison is now running a community group in Ipswich.

This is a group to support the residents living in the Old Foundry Road flats (Oak Housing) by providing a friendly, informal fortnightly session on Thursdays 10AM until 12PM to encourage residents to meet with one another, enjoy refreshments together, gain advice and support and improve personal wellbeing.

Prudential Ride London - fundraising for TBS!

Mark Swift, a local (Sudbury) architect is doing the Prudential Ride London to raise funds for The befriending Scheme on Sunday 4th August. Mark, 65, is a keen cyclist and has been stepping up his training ready for the 100-mile ride in London. This famous ride was on Mark's "bucket list "so was delighted to have been awarded a place courtesy of The befriending scheme. If you could take a moment to visit Mark’s Just giving page and donate if possible it would be greatly appreciated.
